Yao Shun Yu is a cheerful, energetic and optimistic young man. He is thrilled to be hired as a secretary at the successful online marketing company Tianxia, despite his lack of experience, as he wants to earn money in order to help his parents, who work hard running a small breakfast restaurant.
On his first day at Tianxia, Shun Yu finds out he won’t be working for the kind Li Hui Wang, who interviewed him for the job, but rather for General Manager Xia Shang Zhou, who is very hard to work for, as is immediately evident from the relief the other secretaries express now they don’t need to deal with Xia Shang Zhou directly.
General Manager Xia is cranky and demanding and has unreasonable expectations. After a disastrous first day, Shun Yu considers quitting, but the excellent salary and benefits, plus the fact he is given a Q&A manual on the boss (compiled by Xia’s former secretaries) together with the full support from the entire secretarial pool (whose ulterior motive is avoiding working directly with General Manager Xia), Shun Yu decides to stick with the job. After all, he’s dealt with difficult customers at his parents’ restaurant!
